'Talking To The Moon' as written by John David Souther and Donald Hugh Henley.
When the hot September sun down in Texas Has sucked the streams bone dry And turned to roads to dust In the sleepy little towns down in Texas, The shades are all pulled down; The streets are all rolled up.
I'm a little confused here by the two main trains of thought that the community seems to have and their apparent incompatibility:. To the Moon!. Don't Sell Now!
From my understanding, to the moon is a reference to the value of DOGE rising astronomically until it reaches the moon and by selling now you will miss the ride. Awesome, sounds fun! Where is doesn't line up is that value only comes when two people connect, one looking to buy DOGE and the other looking to sell DOGE. Whatever price they agree to is the value of DOGE. If no one is selling DOGE because they are all waiting to go to the moon, how can the value rise? Doesn't the whole trip to the moon rely on supply being short but demand being high with people selling their DOGE at incrementally higher prices? Furthermore, the community seems built around fairness, which is awesome.
How does that jive with the 'To The Moon' mentality? If you are going to get to the moon, it won't be on a rocketship, but the backs of those people who are demanding DOGE and buying up at incrementally higher prices and those that are selling to them. It doesn't seem right that you get to the moon by not selling and waiting for other people to spend their money and drive up the price.
Those other people don't get to the moon. They are just booster rockets for your ship. That doesn't really seem in line with the community. Can any wise shibe philosophers let me know how I can reconcile these observations? If you are going to get to the moon, it won't be on a rocketship, but the backs of those people who are demanding DOGE and buying up at incrementally higher prices.

To me, 'To The Moon' is a call to action. Saying that is equivalent to saying, we're not going to wait for moon to come to us (like so many other cryptocoin holders), instead we will build the necessary rocketship (a functioning dogeconomy) that will bring all shibes to the moon. This is done through tipping, spreading adoption and building infrastructure.
The refreshing can-do attitude has been one of the reasons why doge is so successful for such a young currency. Because we're full of both dreamers and do-ers. And while we're getting to the moon, the current value doesn't matter that much. Only moon value matters.
In fact, shibes are discouraged to think too much about current doge value since that induces greediness which can be detrimental to the Moon journey. It doesn't seem right that you get to the moon by not selling and waiting for other people to spend their money and drive up the price. Those other people don't get to the moon. They are just booster rockets for your ship.
That doesn't really seem in line with the community. Different people in the community has different moons. When moon has been reached for that person, he sells.
Someone buys from him and becomes a new Shibe who joins the community. He's not just a rocket booster to the community, instead he's welcomed to contribute to the journey so that he too can reach his own moon, alongside the remaining shibes. Written this way, dogecoin sounds very cultish. The Church of Doge that emphasises less on monetary possession of money and more on what the money can do to improve your quality of life. Maybe this is also partly why it appeals to the younger generation who is familiar with the meme and drawn to the communal aspect.
